Short description of the study programme

The predecessor in title of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) was founded in 1782, and started the education of architects in 1871. It is a state university, presently the largest technical university in Hungary. The university has eight faculties: Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Economic and Social Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Natural Sciences, Transportation Engineering. Our profession is both artistic and technical: architect+engineer. The traditional strength of this Faculty is the balance between these two fields: we attach equal importance to the studying of the technical and engineering sciences and to the development of artistic creativity. BSc degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering; successful admission test; quality of BSc transcript (min. 70%); portfolio; language skills proven by TOEFL (iBt 80), IELTS (5.5), Cambridge First Certificate or equivalent certificate
