In the meeting of the Cooperation Platform Of Central And East European Metropolitan Universities Of Technology held at the University of Technology, Budapest, the most recent research area of BME was also presented.
The regular meeting of the Cooperation Platform Of Central And East European Metropolitan Universities Of Technology was held in the middle of June. Rector Prof. Gábor Péceli and Dr. Péter Moson, vice-rector for international relations were chairing the major annual event of the international organisation.

The platform was founded in November 2008 by Polish initiation to facilitate stronger cooperation among technical universities of the region in the fields of education, research and innovation. The organisation was lead by BME in the past academic year of 2013-14. Members of the network: Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Czech Technical University in Prague, Moscow State Technical University Bauman, National Technical University of Ukraine, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University, Slovak University of Technology, Technische Universität Berlin, Vienna University of Technology, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Warsaw University of Technology. |
Participants of this year’s meeting made decisions to enhance more organised activity of the platform. Until September 2014 all member institutions are to delegate a coordinator respectively, who will keep regular contacts and cooperate more effectively with the leadership of the current president institution (in the 2014-15 academic year the Technical University of Prague).
In the meeting project leaders and researchers presented the six priority research areas of BME. Dr. Péter Moson informed us that technical universities of Prague, Berlin and Budapest have launched a cooperation project in the Horizon 2020 EU Framework Programme in disaster prevention, which is the most recent priority research area of BME.
