Traineeship programme on intellectual property is open for new applications

BME joined this international initiative last year and several of its students were selected to be part of the one-year programme in Munich receiving a monthly allowance of EUR 2,000.

The Pan-European Seal Programme (PES) aims to help students understand the importance of intellectual property (IP) in today’s world and offer them a career path in this area through its traineeship locations in Europe’s largest IP institutions.

The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) joined this initiative in September 2020 and began working together with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO). This, on the one hand, includes support for events promoting IP awareness and training and on the other, a highly popular traineeship programme organised jointly by the EUIPO, the EPO and their strategic university partners for university students in the following fields of study:

Engineering
Law (including IP law)
International relations
Arts
Business administration and management
Information technology
Communication and media science
Facility management (including architecture and engineering)
Human resources

The opportunity to apply for this one-year traineeship programme offered by these institutions is available to high-achieving students at BME.

For the 2020/2021 academic year, the EPO offers almost 90 traineeship posts in a variety of departments at its headquarters in Munich. This year, traineeship posts are again available both at the EPO and the EUIPO. The dedicated, mentor supported programme is based on three key pillars: traineeship, online courses and other training such as career consulting and special language courses.
