Daniel Templeton (Cloudera, USA): How big is Big Data? Should I invest in it? - Big Data technologies from the perspective of a university student.

Big data has become one of the most technology popular buzzwords of the decade, but what does it mean?  How big in big?  What's different about working with big data?  What is Hadoop, and how does it compare to Spark?  What about Flink?  Beam?  Kafka?  Or a dozen other funny-named technologies that are promising to change the world?  In this talk we'll try to answer some of these questions and consider big data from the perspective of a university student.  There will be lots of time for questions, and maybe even some answers.
