Future challenges in engineering and social sciences
2025. 11. 10.BME is joining the series of events organized for the 200th anniversary of the foundation of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA).
Several programmes await those interested: the events cover current scientific topics ranging from artificial intelligence and quantum networks to educational science conferences.
Some of them are availabe in English, namely:
Mathematical Modeling Seminar by lászló Arany
- Time: 11. 11. 25.
- Venue: Building IB, Room 028
Mathematical Modeling Seminar by Petra Renáta Rigó
- Time: 18. 11. 25.
- Venue: Building IB, Room 028
Mathematical Modeling Seminar by Gábor Bojár
- Time: 11. 11. 25.
- Venue: Building IB, Room 030
- The aim of the seminar is to provide a regular platform for presenting applied mathematical results, models, and problems. It serves to promote the dissemination of applied mathematical knowledge and culture within the BME Institute of Mathematics and beyond. The seminar also aims to foster productive collaborations with other institutions, including other BME departments and institutes, as well as companies and enterprises interested in mathematical modeling. This seminar series encompasses all aspects of mathematical modeling, such as the development, analysis, refinement, and validation of mathematical models in diverse applications.
DevFest Budapest 2025 – The AI Conference
- Time: 21. 11. 25.
- Venue: Building IB, Room 028
- The central topic of the conference is artificial intelligence, so this year we are expecting presentations showcasing the latest research and practical applications of the AI ecosystem. The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for both Google experts (Googlers, GDEs) and AI pioneers who want to share the latest results, experiences, and developments in the technology with the community. Main panels: Core Models & Research Frontiers; Developer Tools & Applied AI
Budapest International Conference on Education
- Time: 24-26. 11. 25.
- Venue: online (Teams)
- Our goal is to create a conference which provides a platform for discussion on the challenges and innovations in education. Topics include but are not limited to: artificial intelligence, nline collaboration, project and enquiry-based learning, data management, developments in higher education, collaborative teaching, innovations in engineering Eeducation, vocational education and training, subject-related problems in methodology, partnerships of vocational education and training/academia and industry, social challenges of 21st century education, sustainability in education, blended learning and flipped classrooms, minorities and education, curriculum design, the alpha generation in education.
Budapest Workshop on Philosophy and Technology
- Time: 27-28. 11. 25.
- Venue: Building E
- The aim of the biennial workshop is to attract researchers active in the field of philosophy of technology, and to discuss the ethical and philosophical implications of current trends in technical research and development (e.g., artificial intelligence, medical technology, autonomous vehicles). This year, we have a particularly strong program thanks to two key topics: AI at War – guest speakers from Ukrainian universities will report on the reality of the relationship between war and AI; Curing and Caring: Medical Technologies – The head of the AI center in Ireland will give a lecture on current ethical issues in healthcare AI.
