BME and BorsodChem Sign a Strategic Innovation Partnership
2025. 12. 11.Researchers and industry experts will work together on technological developments to make manufacturing more efficient, while students will have access to practice-oriented training opportunities.
The rector of BME and the chairman of the board of BorsodChem have signed an agreement on long-term cooperation in innovation and training. BME's faculties The faculties of BME train engineers in a wide range of fields, while BorsodChem employs engineers with diverse qualifications, therefore the agreement extends to all areas of shared interest. The cooperation among university lecturers, students, and industry experts is expected to yield new knowledge that, once integrated into production, can result in more effective and efficient manufacturing technologies. In turn, incorporating this knowledge into education will further raise the standard of practice-oriented engineering training.
Internships, theses
The parties have agreed to work together in the future on innovative technological developments that the company can put to practical use in production. In addition, where possible, they will jointly apply for research and development grants and, subject to mutual agreement, will publish or patent their results. As a practical training centre, BorsodChem will host factory visits and professional traineeships, provide thesis topics and supervisors with industrial experience, and there is also potential for developing PhD topics, including within the framework of the Cooperative Doctoral Programme.

The products of the company, which celebrated its 75th anniversary last year, are essential raw materials for industries such as construction, automotive, furniture, clothing and footwear, wood and furniture, and household appliance manufacturing.
