EELISA calls its members to launch joint courses
2026. 04. 23.Thousands of euros are up for grabs through partnerships with partner universities. Grants are available for courses starting in September as well as for existing, ongoing ones.
EELISA, a European university alliance of which BME is the sole Hungarian (founding) member, is calling for proposals from its member universities to develop joint educational projects. Wihin the framework of the 1st joint Academic Call, the design and development of innovative ECTS-bearing activities are supported. The ambition is to build high-quality academic offerings that can be replicated, adapted, and embedded across curricula throughout the alliance.
The call supports a range of programme formats, with a total budget of €237K.
The following funding streams are available:
- Pairing of already existing courses (up to €5,000): flexible collaboration where courses are connected across institutions without changing core learning outcomes.
- New Joint Courses (up to €8,000): fully co-designed and co-taught courses with shared learning objectives and coordinated delivery.
- Micro-credentials (up to €10,000): short, targeted, and certified learning experiences responding to emerging skills needs.
- Aligning Degrees (up to €3,000): adapting existing programmes to reflect the EELISA European Engineer Profile and increase their visibility at Alliance level.
- Joint Degrees (up to €15,000): ambitious, long-term collaboration to create fully shared degree programmes through a two-stage development process.
The call looks for projects that bring together at least two EELISA institutions (except degree alignment actions);
deliver pilot implementations with strong replication potential; contribute to innovative, accessible, and cost-effective education, integrate seamlessly into existing curricula; embrace virtual and blended learning approaches where possible.
This call is a unique chance to strengthen academic collaboration across Europe, experiment with forward-looking educational formats, deepen collaboration across STEM, social sciences, and humanities disciplines, and build scalable academic programmes with real impact.
The full call for proposals can be found here. Applications can be submitted using this form at this address until June 20, 2026. Degree alignment actions require a specific Formal Request Letter instead. Results are expected to be announced in mid-July.
An online information session will be held on May 11, where questions can be asked; you can register here. To search for potential partners, it is recommended by filling out this form.
