Procurement Excellence Training Programme Launched at BME in Collaboration with Schneider Electric
2026. 06. 02.The company has developed two subjects on its own. Students will gain practical knowledge that can be immediately applied in the market.
A Procurement Excellence Programme has been launched at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at BME. By completing the programme’s courses, students can gain up-to-date, practical knowledge in the field of procurement, for which participants receive a so-called Procurement Excellence Certificate. Schneider Electric’s local experts are contributing to the development of the course curriculum and the delivery of related knowledge.
The agreement was signed by rector Haassan Charaf, and Zsolt Veres, the company’s country manager. Schneider Electric and BME have previously collaborated on numerous technical projects.

Most of the courses in the programme are available in both Hungarian and English. The required credits can be earned over any number of semesters, but the courses must be completed as part of a specific degree programme. The goal of the course is to provide students with up-to-date practical knowledge that they can immediately apply once they start working.
Schneider Electric does more than just provide lecturers and instructors: it has developed two full-fledged courses on its own, meaning that its experts are involved in the programme not only as instructors but also as curriculum designers, which enables an unusually deep integration of corporate expertise and the academic environment. This type of involvement by a multinational company as part of an accredited university programme is extremely rare, especially in Hungary.
“We are very pleased to be part of the launch of the strategic procurement course at BME.
Our experience shows that recent graduates leaving university do not necessarily have the opportunity to acquire the practical knowledge needed in the market.
Through the programme launched this spring, they can gain up-to-date knowledge that will allow them to hold their own in the business world, for example at our regional procurement center in Budapest, the Budapest GSC Hub,” said Péter Gurcsó, Regional Procurement Director at the Budapest GSC Hub.
