BME Keeps Its Place In The Top 3 Percent of Universities Worldwide

According to the QS World University Rankings, BME is the best among all Hungarian universities in terms of employer reputation.
The Budapest University of Technology and Economics ranks 751st in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings. The London-based ranking agency evaluated 8,808 higher education institutions worldwide and ranked the top 1,504.
With this result, BME remains a member of the select group of internationally recognized and competitive universities: out of more than 25,000 higher education institutions worldwide, it ranks among the global elite, in the top 3 percent.
| As a specialized university, BME’s quality and international prestige are much better reflected in the subject-specific rankings than in the general one. In this comparison, it ranks 236th in the field of engineering — being the only Hungarian institution on that particular list. |
Similar to last year, 10 Hungarian universities made it into the QS general rankings this year. BME’s place at 751–760 is once again the fourth-best among Hungarian institutions.
Out of the criteria used by QS, BME’s two strongest indicators are employer reputation (326th place, up from 375th last year) and employment outcomes (505th).
It ranks first among Hungarian universities in the former category and second in the latter.
The top of the rankings has not changed much; the top 10 includes the same eight Anglo-Saxon universities, as well as one Swiss and one Singaporean, with a few changes in position. The ranking is as follows: 1. MIT, 2. Imperial College London and Stanford University, 4. University of Oxford, 5. Harvard University, 6. University of Cambridge, 7.
