Stanford professor visits BME

Dr Burton Lee arrived to Hungary in order to examine the country’s innovation potential, with special interest in engineering education.

Burton Lee, PhD in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering (Stanford) is considered one of Silicon Valley’s leading experts on European entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. He is a lecturer at Stanford University in European Entrepreneurship Innovation, as well as board member of several innovation-focused institutions. Besides, Dr Lee provides strategic advisory services to the global innovation sector: start-ups, private equity firms, investment funds, universities and government agencies.

Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Krisztina László and Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation László Péter Kollár presented to Dr Lee the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, its faculties, the departments, institutes, and research activity. The delegation discussed the present and future of engineering education, with special focus on the importance of entrepreneurship within the engineering curriculum.
