BME is among the top 500 in three categories

The Budapest University of Technology and Economics is again in the list of the Best Global Universities which ranks leading universities based on 13 indicators.

This year BME is listed among the top 500 in a new category in electrical engineering (462). In addition, similar to the previous year, the institution is highly ranked in the fields of informatics (489), engineering (462), chemical sciences (530) and physics (583). As the sixth-best Hungarian university, the BME ranks 423rd in the European list and 1091st in the world rankings.

The Best Global Universities ranking list of the US News & World Report includes 1,750 higher education institutions from more than 90 countries. Among the Hungarian universities, ELTE, Semmelweis University, University of Szeged, University of Debrecen, CEU, University of Pécs and Szent István University (renamed as MATE) were also listed in the ranking. The compilation of the list is based on 13 indicators, including measurable scientific achievements, such as the number and ratio of highly cited publications, international cooperation, and the evaluation of the institution's scientific recognition.
