Day of mourning in memory of the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria

BME joins the initiative of EELISA and remembers the victims of the earthquake on February 27.

Budapest University of Technology and Economics commemorates the victims of the disaster in Turkey and Syria with a black flag placed on the BME Central Building and a commemoration at the beginning of the Senate session on February 27.

In addition to BME, Istanbul University of Technology (ITU) is also a member of the EELISA, the alliance of ten universities. EELISA held a Governing Board meeting on February 22, during which the members reviewed the possibilities of supporting ITU. At the meeting, Ismail Koyuncu, Rector of ITU, thanked the partners for their support so far and highlighted the participation of the Hungarian experts in the joint ITU-BME EELISA field mission.

EELISA partner universities intend to play a role in post-earthquake reconstruction with student scholarships, the transfer of technical equipment (e.g. computers), and the assistance of experts.
