Launch of Conflict Café

BME has been focusing on the internationalisation of education and research at the university. The integration of foreign academics, such as bachelor, masters and PhD students, as well as foreign faculty instructors and researchers, may seem self-evident. One could think that having chosen to be here, whether by personal motivation or invitation, should be sufficient to ensure that foreigners successfully integrate into the learning and teaching culture as well as the organisational processes of BME. However, to function successfully in a foreign culture often requires knowledge of unwritten rules, without which the integration process can be even more mentally demanding.

Conflict Café aims to support both foreign and Hungarian participants in the integration process in an accepting, safe environment where they are listened to, can ask for information, exchange experiences and receive professional psychological and mediation services in both English and Hungarian.
