Short description of the study programme

The Faculty offers an MSc program in Land Surveying and Geographical Information Systems Engineering with a duration of 1.5 years. The program provides advanced knowledge of geoinformatics, IT technologies, cutting edge mapping and localisation techniques, geophysics, and adjustment calculations. This program is useful for research-oriented students pursuing a doctoral degree in a PhD program, as well as for the next generation of practicing leading engineers who will solve special land surveying and geoinformatics problems and innovate construction procedures.

Minimum requirements

  • diploma of BSc in Civil Engineering;
  • document of English language proficiency;
  • successful admission test

In special cases (e.g. inability to take exams due to international sanctions, unavailability of service, etc.) exceptional permission has to be requested in advance for internal (BME) English language test.

Steps: - preevaluation of the submitted documents: quality of BSc diploma, quality of BSc transcript, obtained credits in field of Land Surveying and Geoinformatics,  additional evaluated aspects: quality of motivation letter, recommendation letter (if available), extra-curricular activities (e.g. involvement in education, research, publication activities, technical contests, additional language knowledge, etc.) - result of pre-evaluation: admission to MSc programme / electronic admission/admission rejected - electronic admission (via the internet) if required: electronic written admission test and/or electronic interview: evaluation of language skills (the interview is in English), motivation, attitude, technical preparedness - visit www.bme.hu for further information Result: admission to MSc programme /admission rejected
