Senior Executive of Thyssenkrupp to Give a Lecture at BME

What does it take for a company to develop a successful and sustainable innovation culture?

At the invitation of the BME Department of Automotive Technologies, the Senior Vice President of Research and Advanced Engineering at Thyssenkrupp Steering will deliver a lecture on the company's innovation journey. Kristof Polmans has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, having started his career at Ford Motor Company and working at Thyssenkrupp for almost two decades, leading projects focused on advanced technologies and innovations.

From slow follower to innovation leader

The Belgian expert's lecture will highlight how Thyssenkrupp Steering transitioned from being a slow follower to becoming an innovation leader in the industry. It will provide insights into major projects such as the Steer by Wire and Brake by Wire systems, as well as the Vehicle Motion Control that have significantly shaped the company’s path. He will also address the challenges of innovation and what it takes to foster a successful and sustainable innovation culture within a company.

The purpose of the event is to strengthen the cooperation between the department's research community and its industrial partners. The organizers would like to especially thank Ádám Bárdos, head of the Vehicle Dynamics and Control Research Group at the department.
