Graduates of the programme will gain competitive knowledge in the development of systems using artificial intelligence.

BME’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (VIK) will launch a new English-language artificial intelligence master training programme in September. Applications will be open from January 31.

Goal and structure

The goal of the new MSc programme is to train highly qualified professionals who not only understand, but are also able to design, develop and operate complex artificial intelligence systems. Students will become familiar with all the tools that can meet industrial needs. Upon graduation, they will have the collaboration and modeling skills necessary to solve development tasks in their field of application and be able to perform and coordinate research tasks aimed at artificial intelligence. The programme offers a balanced theoretical and practical knowledge that provides a solid foundation for direct industrial employment and doctoral studies.

What can students learn?

The curriculum covers the most up-to-date technological trends and methodologies:

· Foundations and specializations: machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning;
· Generative AI and LLM: development of large language models and generative systems;
· Systems approach: multi-agent systems, data processing, mathematical and statistical foundations;
· Operational methodologies: modern AI software development (MLOps, DevOps, MLSecOps).

Application requirements

Professional qualifications that are accepted without condition:

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSc);
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSc);

Partially accepted undergraduate qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSc);
  • Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity (BSc);
  • those bachelor and master’s degrees and degrees in accordance with Act LXXX of 1993 on Higher Education that are accepted by the faculty’s credit transfer committee based on the comparison of the knowledge serving as the basis for determining the credit.

BME incorporates the experiences of the Human-Centred AI Master’s (HCAIM) project into the education. This ensures that students are among the first to master the ethical issues of AI, the design of reliable and secure systems, the long-term perspectives of artificial general intelligence (AGI), and the legal and social aspects in an integrated manner. Graduates will thus be able to analyze complex problems and develop AI-based solutions in healthcare, education, or finance.

Career prospects

Graduates obtain a Master in Artificial Intelligence degree. Their preparation makes them suitable for analyzing complex problems and implementing AI-based solutions in many areas of life, be it healthcare, industrial automation, the financial sector or education. The program concludes with professional practice and the preparation of a thesis, opening a direct path to the global AI market or an academic research career.
