EELISA’s 8th Joint Call Now Open, With €200,000 Up For Grabs

European university alliance EELISA has published its 8th Joint Call. The organisation is distributing a total of 200,000 euros, with individual projects eligible to receive up to 12,000 euros.

EELISA is an alliance of 10 European universities, primarily with a technical profile, with BME being the only member from Hungary. Partners include such renowned institutions as the École des Ponts ParisTech in France, the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in Nuremberg, and the Technical University of Madrid.

Communities at the member universities can apply for funding to develop interdisciplinary higher education initiatives using innovative approaches to address complex societal challenges linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Projects should focus on challenge-based learning and innovative methods that bring EELISA partners together.

The two main topics:

Educational activities that strengthen the research and innovation dimensions of EELISA, building on the priorities established in the 6th and 7th EELISA Joint Calls;

Encouraging community building and campus engagement, with a particular focus on initiatives emerging from student-led EELISA Communities. Proposals that give students an active role in the design, implementation, and dissemination of projects are especially welcome.

BME is organising online info sessions, both about the EELISA communities in general, and the present call:

• 25 September, Friday, 12 AM, here (Zoom) – prior registration needed here.
• 2 October, Friday, 2 PM, here (Teams).

Sándor Kiss, Sarolta Tóvölgyi and Krisztina Schweigert-Kisida will, upon request, assist with a preliminary formal review of applications received from applicants by 12 noon on 30 October.

This is the final Joint Call under the current funding framework. We will report on the results on bme.hu.
