The international scientific competition is now fully open. From BME, authors of the best TDK theses are eligible to apply.

Registration is now open for the 2026 Scientific Student Competition (SSC) of European university association EELISA. The competition is to be hosted by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid on May 21-22. It will be held in a hybrid format, meaning that participants will also be able to join online via Zoom.

This will be the fourth edition of the SSC, launched by EELISA on the initiative of BME, based on the model of the domestic TDK. The first was held in Pisa, the second in Budapest at BME, and last year's in Bucharest. One important new feature of the Romanian event was that it was open not only to the 10 member universities of the association, but also to other institutions – and this will be the case again this year.

Students selected and delegated by BME within the framework of the institutional TDK can participate in the conference in Spain. One may apply with the English version of their previously completed and award-winning TDK thesis, which can also be updated with new results.

BME supports the personal participation of recipients of the Rector's Special Award, the Dénes Gábor Special Award, and the IDK Special Award with scholarships.

Registration is open on the EELISA website until February 28, after which a summary of the research project of no more than 400 words can be submitted on a special form between March 9 and 24. The thesis should be submitted between April 3 and 24, and a 12-15 minute presentation is required to be given at the competition.
